If The Foundations Are Destroyed

Psalm 11:3 - “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?”

1 Corinthians 3:10-15

The importance of our foundation

• Watching “How Did They Build That” on the Smithsonian channel
  • If the foundation is not solid, the whole building will be unstable
  • Psalm 11:3 - “If the foundations are destroyed…”
• The heresy billboards “Jesus is not God” and worldslastchance.com or wlc.org

We do the building (v. 10)

• How you build on the foundation matters
  • 2 Peter 1:5-10 - “Add to your faith…”
    • Verse 10 - “As long as you practice these things YOU WILL NEVER STUMBLE.”

Christ must be our foundation (v. 11)

• Your foundation must be solid.
  • Matthew 7:24-27 - “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock…”

What you build with matters (v. 12-15)

• It will all be burned up
  • Matthew 3:11-12 - “He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire…He will gather His wheat into the barn…He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

How are you building upon the foundation? Will it all be burned up or will you have a reward?
